Argan oil (or argane) is drawn from the argan tree endigenous of Morocco and primarily in the south-west region of the country.
Of traditional and ancestral manufacture, the fruits are collected and sun-dried. The dried fruits are pulped and the cores crushed between two stones by the women of Berbères. The small almonds inside known as “green almonds” are then sorted.
These green almonds are mechanically crushed, then pressed. The oil collected is then elutriated, filtered and bottled. Though partially mechanized, this process remains extremely time consuming because the annual production of a tree is not sufficient for the 80 kgs of fruit required for 1 litre of oil.

To produce our first pressing bio argan oil, the green almonds are toasted before being pressed, refining the aroma (and adding a hint of hazelnut and almond flavours).
It can be consumed straight, or slightly heated, but cannot in any case to be used for frying. Just a few drops will enhance the flavours of your salads and your finest dishes.

It meets all the strictest European and global standards, which makes it a reliable and top-of-the-range product, and have an organic certification.

Health-wise, argan oil is invaluable for its wealth in vitamin E and unsaturated fatty-acids (mainly oleic acid and linoleic acid) contributing to reduce cholesterol levels. The linoleic acid (omega-6) is known as “essence” because it is essential for our organisms which cannot process it, It must therefore be absorbed through our food.

“Poutargue” (or “Boutargue” or Mediterranean caviar) is a speciality made from dried, salted mullet roe. Originally found along the coasts of the Mediterranean basin, ours is micro-produced in France in the Bouches du Rhone (13).

Argan oil (or argane) is drawn from the argan tree endigenous of Morocco and primarily present at the south-west of the country.

Of traditional and ancestral manufacture, the fruits are collected and sun-dried. The dried fruits are pulped and the cores crushed between two stones by the women of Berbères. The small almonds inside known as “green almonds” are then sorted.

These green almonds are mechanically crushed, then pressed. The oil collected is then elutriated, filtered and bottled. Though partially mechanized, this process remains extremely time consuming because the annual production of a tree is not sufficient for the 80 kgs of fruit required for 1 litre of oil.

The almonds reserved for the manufacture of oil or for cosmetics are not toasted, this process is solely for the edible oils to refine the flavours (a hint of hazelnut and almond)

Wax-preserved Poutargue keeps for 4 months in dry, refrigerated conditions. Once opened, cover with cling film, (aluminium foil is not recommended) and avoid eating too cold as the flavours can be affected. Poutargue is best removed from the fridge half an hour before being served!
